This Sri Lanka itinerary takes you from the capital Colombo into the hill country and back to the beach. Experience colonial heritage, tea country and coastal relaxation. Highlights include Kandy’s Temple of the Tooth, a train ride through green mountains, and Bentota’s tropical beaches.

Day 1
Arrive at Bandaranaike Intl. Airport (Colombo) and drive to Kandy (≈4 hours). Check into your hotel. In the afternoon, visit Kandy’s sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic and walk around Kandy Lake. Enjoy a cultural dance show in the evening. (Overnight in Kandy.)
Day 2
After breakfast, tour Kandy: Royal Botanical Gardens and the city. Later, depart for Nuwara Eliya (≈3 hours), a picturesque hill town known as “Little England.” En route visit a tea plantation and factory. Explore Nuwara Eliya’s colonial town: Gregory Lake and the misty hills. (Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.)
Day 3
Morning sightseeing in Nuwara Eliya: see Seetha Amman Temple, Victoria Park, and the Lovers’ Leap waterfall. Optionally take the scenic train (not included) for part of the journey. In afternoon drive to Bentota on the southwest coast (≈4–5 hours). Check into your beach resort. (Overnight in Bentota.)
Day 4
Bentota is all about sun and sand. Relax on the golden beach or by the pool. You can also visit local sights: Kande Viharaya Temple, the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, or take water sports (jet-ski, windsurfing) on Bentota Beach. Enjoy fresh seafood in the evening. (Overnight in Bentota.)
Day 5
After breakfast, drive back to Colombo (≈2 hours). In Colombo city tour see the Gangaramaya Temple, Galle Face Green, the colonial fort area and markets. Evening at leisure for shopping or beach walk. (Overnight in Colombo.)
Day 6
Breakfast and depart for Bandaranaike Airport. (Tour ends.)
